“We are all devotees of the material world!

“We are all devotees of the material world!” This might sound very unpleasant, but think about it a little deeply.

Today, the devotion to God that is seen everywhere in our country, is it the real devotion to God? Grand Discources, Bhajans Sandhya, Jagratas etc. are being held at various places, there is a huge crowd in every temple in every pilgrimage, but is this crowd for God?

No. Actually, it is not for God. We are going to temples, we go to pilgrimages, we organize Jagratas, we do all this for our selfishness. What do we ask for when we go to God? O God, protect my family, my children should be happy, I should not face any trouble, my son should get a job, my daughter should get married, etc.

This means that we do not have any interest in God, we just want God to do our work. So, how is this devotion?

Because the meaning of devotion is to have attachment with God, to fall in love with him, like “Meera Bai” had with Lord Krishna.

That is, a devotee is one whose mind is immersed in God. But right now our mind is immersed in our parents, brothers, sisters, wife, husband, children, wealth and property.

This means that we are not devotees of God, we are devotees of the world.

So,

– How can we become true devotees of God?
– What does Devotion truly mean?
– Why is our mind fixated on the material world?
– What does detachment (Vairagya) mean?
– Why can’t our minds focus on God?
– What is the difference between God and Deities?
– What is the real purpose of human life?

………If getting married and having children is the ultimate purpose of human life, then animals and birds are better than us, as they can have 6-7 offspring at a time.
Then, what is the difference between humans and animals or birds?
